On 31 October 2023 our yearly Table grape Block Competition kicked off with our judges visiting 13 contestants in this years’ competition over 3 days. The competition consisted of 2 categories namely:

Young Vine Block – we received 5 entries

Production Block – we received 8 entries

A lovely lunch was sponsored by Norotshama Lodge to revitalize our judges daily. On Friday, 3 November 2023 the judges finalized scores. In the evening the NGGA team hosted our sponsors for a sponsorship steak braai which all enjoyed, accompanied by lovely wine sponsored by Bosman Adama.

Early Saturday morning, 4 November 2023, it was the prize giving event!

Our guest speaker, Mr. Fanie Naude from Denau gave an interesting presentation from a producer’s point of view on the challenges and the future of table grape production.

Our keynote speaker, Mr. Werner van Rooyen from FPEF gave a very informative presentation on logistics in the Table grape industry globally.

After this our judges gave formal overview feedback on the entry blocks and then it was time to announce the winners. A huge congratulations to:

The day was concluded with visits to the 2 wining blocks and a lunch.
